James Edwards Jr.'s triple-double lands him Player of the Week award

American Center James Edwards Jr. (211-C-1997) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Al Ittihad Jeddah, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 26-year old player recorded a triple-double of 11 points adding also 13 rebounds and 17 assists, while his team outclassed Al Wehda (#7, 9-9) with 41-point margin 108-67. It allowed Ittihad to consolidate first place in the Saudi Arabian SBL. Ittihad have a solid 16-2 record. Edwards Jr. turned to be Ittihad's top player in his first season with the team. Former Southern University star has very solid stats this year. Edwards Jr. is in league's top in assists (4th best: 5.5apg) and averages impressive 51.9% FGP and 46.7% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was another Ittihad's star - young American Alex Young (198-F-1989). Young had a very good evening with 33 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course together with Edwards Jr. he helped Al Ittihad Jeddah with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Al Wehda (#7, 9-9) 108-67. Of course Ittihad still keep the league's top spot. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 16 matches. Young is a newcomer at Ittihad, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Guyanese forward Kevin Mickle (201-F-1993) of Deba (#11). Mickle scored 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Mickle's great performance the Deba lost 82-98 to slightly higher-ranked Al Safa (#10, 5-13). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Deba can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-17 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Mickle has a very solid season. In 7 games in Saudi Arabia he scored 29.1ppg. He also has 13.4rpg, a FGP of 56.0% and 3PT: 41.7%.
